COMMENT CORNER: Sometimes, if we let the Lord really do His miraculous work in our lives, our moments of greatest challenge can lead to the discovery of our greatest strengths. Don't be shy about all your goodness...what is one strength you've gained from your challenges?

I first heard Miriama 2 years ago and bought her video. I was so impressed with her story and her faith. Can't wait to hear her again.

I'm working on patience as I am working through my current challenge...

Patience.....definitely a lot of patience. I've learned that things happen in the Lords time and not mine. Can't wait to meet Miriama again. Talk about an inspiration!!!!
One strength I think I have gained is gratitude. Gratitude of the tender mercies that I receive through my trials and the fact that even though I have to go through that trial to grow and become the person He wants me to be, He is there along the way and I am grateful that I can recognize this tender mercy from Him.
I have learned that sometimes we just have to turn it over to the Lord and he will bring peace in His own way and time.

Through some recent growth inspiring events in my life I have had the opportunity to learn many things. One in particular is my voice. I have learned that it's ok to speak up and communicate even about hard things. I am so excited to hear from Mariama, love her strength to overcome and forgive.

What an inspiring woman--so full of love and faith and forgiveness. I can't wait to hear her presentation again.

I think I have learned that I have to be humble (and still learning) in order to be receptive to what the Lord wants me to do. Patience is definitely another one. I can't wait to hear Mariama again.

I am looking forward to listening to Mariama -- it will be my first time hearing her speak. I think that the greatest lesson I have learned from my challenges is to try and see the positive in everything -- seek the good and hold on to it.
I am excited for all these great presenters! I have learn a lot from trials and weaknesses. I think the best thing I have learned is that I need to take a deep breathe and keep an eternal perpective so often I don't need to be freaking out I just need to calm down and get throught it.
Loosing a child is one of the hardest thing I have ever done, and when it happened again two years later I thought for sure I was being picked on. I didn't think it could happen again and it did.
But, I am a better person because of them. My son and daughter have changed my life and I am a better person because of them. I have empathy for others that I did not have before, I am a better mother to the miracle that I have and I have had some very spiritual experiences that would have never happened without them in my life.
One of the best things that have happened through the coping and grieving process was the friends I have met and the things we get to do for other families that suffer through the loss of a child.
Compassion...I think my trials have taught me to be a little bit more tender to others becaue you never know the trials they are fighting through.
Lisa Cox
I have learned to not judge, every single person has a battle or war they are fighting. I am a better friend because of the trials in my life, I want to love people, because you can never get eonough or give enough of it:)

One of the most valuable things I gain from tough challenges is compassion and understanding for other people and their struggles.

Empathy for others! Being sick for over 5 years at one point in my life and then having that sickness lifted away (gone for 7 years now) helped me gain empathy for others who are sick. Love Miriama as well--saw her just about 6 months ago at a youth fireside with my daughter! She is the role model of strength and courage and rising above it all!
When it comes to trials I love the cookie analogy. Everyone loves a warm gooie chocolate chip cookie but would you enjoy sucking on a tsp. of baking soda? With out the baking soda the cookie would not be nearly as wonderful but sometimes it is hard to see that when it comes to trials. We need them to become who Heavenly Father needs us to be. I would never have know how strong I truly am with out the tests that he sends me.

I think with every trial I learn something different. One of the strengths I have gained is the knowledge that my prayers will always be answered. Not always in my time or in the way I always think they will be, but they will always be answered.
Barbara Riddle
I attended a youth fireside last winter where Mariama Kallon was the speaker. Her powerful message is unforgettable, and her love and energy will touch everyone to the core. I will never look at a humanitarian kit the same way again, nor will I ever think that anyone is too hard to forgive. There is no one like this amazing sister!
Polly
I've never even heard of Mariama until now. I'm excited to hear what promises to be an inspiring presentation! Millie Chidester
Oh how I love Mariama and her message. Empathy has to be one strength gained from challenges.

I think every challenge teaches us knew things and that is why we are given challenges to keep learning and growing. Over the years I have been strengthened in many ways each of those strengths help me with the next challenge.

I lost my first husband at the age of 24, leaving me with 3 small children to care for. I have felt my Fathers arms around me many time and have now been blessed to know the reason for this loss so many years ago. The Lord works in mysterous way His wonders to perform.
