WEEKLY FOCUS
PRESENTER HIGHLIGHT: VIRGINIA PEARCE
For years, Virginia Pearce has been sharing her insights on motherhood, sisterhood, gospel goodness and what it’s like to be the daughter of a prophet (President Hinckley, just in case you can’t see the resemblance!) with TOFW. We’re so excited that she’ll be joining us again, this time in Richfield, to share her indomitable spirit and usual zest for life as she faces the challenges that come with losing a husband and embarking on a new season of life. Virginia really loves the women of the church, past and present, and you’ll feel that love when she speaks to us Friday night.

SHARE CHALLENGE!
Share this video or the presenter bio via Facebook or email this week with someone you think could use a TOFW-style pick-me-up. If you have your brochures, write a personal note about why a friend would like to come listen to Virginia and give it to them with a brochure.

COMMENT CORNER: What will you do this summer to "Seek the Good"?

20 comments:
I am a counseler for YW is our ward. We have challenged the YW to see need and do it with out being asked. I think looking for ways to serve is a good way to seek the good. I am trying to look for opportunities to say kind things. Tracie Dymond
My husband is working out of town and I found myself begin to feel down. Instead of wallowing in pity, my four kids and I have decided to focus on the good parts. We are grateful for cell phones that make it so that we can text Daddy when something exciting happens through the day and that also enables us to still study scriptures and pray together as a family. We live in such a wonderful time! We are surrounded by so much good!
I am trying to prioritize and seek the good with my kids. Sometimes I get too busy doing projects and stuff and just let them play and be good. But I need to seek more good opportunities to read, play and just be with them.

This summer I am seeking the good with my family in the foods we eat and in exercising together! We are blessed with an overabundance and can find the greater good by seeking the Word of Wisdom!

This summer I am trying to seek the good with my kiddos and hubby. I am trying to take full advantage of the time I get to spend with them. I had high hopes of seeking the good in many areas of my life but so far the summer is slipping away from me and I find myself eating way too much chocolate and staying up too late and sleeping in and I can't even remember the last time I was on my bike! That's it, tomorrow I will get my act together.

This summer is different for me because I now have three teenage-ish children that are headed in a myriad of directions. Scout camp, girls camp, leadership camp, youth conference, jobs, etc, ETC!! It makes me realize how quickly the time is passing with my family and how much I need to focus on the GOOD in my family and the time I have with them to teach about the gospel.
This summer I am seeking the good by setting goals and actually trying to accomplish them :)I have one missionary that just left, and one coming home in three weeks. With crazy schedules, I am trying to focus on studying and not forgetting the small things.

I have a lot of extra time this summer and it seems that I have spent it doing nothing but sitting around and being lazy. I am going to seek good things and use my time more wisely!
This summer I'm going to try and seek the good by spending more time getting to know some of my neighbors I don't know!

So looking forward to Virginia! I first heard her nearly 5 years ago at a Time Out in Las Vegas. I still remember some of the things she taught me that day about prayer and what it means to pray always. This summer I am trying to seek good prayers. I am trying to teach my children about what it means to really communicate with our Heavenly Father and develop a relationship with Him through prayer.
Seek the good! I guess that is what all of us really want to do in this life. As I thought about this I realized I could seek the good more by acting upon promptings quicker instead of thinking "that is just my head talking". So what if it is just my thinking it will bring goodness to someone, so do it. If it isnt what a greater blessing and that is what I need. Marsha Taylor

everyday the lord tells me something I must hear and learn from, wether it be happy or hurtful. I love what he told me in this talk. IT is always between he and I, and i'm forever grateful for his lessons and his grace. I have yet to experience forgiveness and not been soooooo happy with myself and the outcome of his blessings:) He will provide what we need ALWAYS. we must be willing and ready. with much love
I am seeking the good in the people. The world is a scary place, but if I look for the good in people I'll be able to see their light and love and serve them like Christ would.
I'm trying to seek the good with my family - looking for the positive, spending positive time together, enjoying each other and the spirit in our home.

Seeking the Good; I love having a spiritual focus for my summer. In not only seeking the good, but in many cases "seeking the good part", I can be nourished and grow in even trying circumstances. Working to keep in step with the Savior will put me in His cooling shadow- and we all know there is not a better place to be. I've already seen His mighty Spirit in my darling young women and our Girl's Camp experiences.
